According to Sportico, the Angel City FC soccer team leads the National Women's Soccer League (NWSL) in team valuations for the third consecutive year, reaching $335 million. The league as a whole has seen a 77% increase in average team value since 2024, with the combined value of the 14 teams now at $2.6 billion.
Why it matters
The rapid growth in NWSL team valuations and league-wide value reflects the increasing popularity and commercialization of women's professional soccer in the United States. As the sport continues to gain mainstream attention, the financial success of the league and its teams will be crucial for sustaining long-term growth and investment.
The details
The top five most valuable NWSL clubs are Angel City FC ($335M), Kansas City Current ($315M), Bay FC ($208M), San Diego Wave FC ($200M), and the Washington Spirit ($196M). Beyond valuation, the Washington Spirit achieved the highest year-over-year revenue growth of 66%, reaching $19.6 million. TV viewership has also continued to increase, with the current TV package valued at $60 million annually, forty times higher than before.
