The Mexican government has authorized 12 members of the U.S. Army's 7th Special Forces Group to enter the country and help train its military personnel. The American special forces will remain in Mexico through July 15, working at military bases near Mexico City and in the state of Quintana Roo. This type of military cooperation between the two countries is not uncommon, with over 1,600 instances of U.S. forces training Mexican service members in the past 10 years.
