Itron, Inc., an innovator in energy and water management solutions, is deepening its long-standing collaboration with Microsoft to accelerate AI innovation at the edge. The expanded partnership will bring together Itron's expertise in utility management with Microsoft's advanced AI capabilities, enabling utilities to achieve new levels of efficiency, resilience and customer engagement.
Why it matters
This collaboration aims to redefine grid edge intelligence by applying AI at scale to optimize utility operations, enhance predictive insights and enrich the customer experience. It will help utilities modernize infrastructure, reduce costs and improve reliability through AI-driven solutions for predictive maintenance, demand forecasting and grid optimization.
The details
As part of the collaboration, Itron is introducing the Itron Intelligent Edge Operating System (IEOS) Connector for Microsoft 365 Copilot, which integrates IEOS data with Microsoft's AI capabilities. This will enable utilities to easily access insights across Itron's Meter Data Management and Operations Optimizer solutions. The companies will also work to make Itron's solutions available through the Microsoft Marketplace and deliver actionable outcomes today while enabling long-term transformation.
