Navan, the global AI-powered business travel and expense platform, has announced the launch of its new Audit Engine, an enterprise-grade transaction screening system with more than 45 configurable audit checks, including built-in Anti-Corruption and Bribery flags. By integrating global risk intelligence, Navan now provides real-time protection against high-stakes threats like sanctioned individuals and politically exposed persons.
Why it matters
The new Audit Engine acts as a force multiplier for finance teams, eliminating hours of detective work and allowing them to focus only on transactions that truly require human judgment. It also helps close the gap between when a transaction happens and when it gets screened for compliance, which is critical for enterprises to avoid FCPA violations that can carry fines in the tens or hundreds of millions of dollars.
The details
Navan's Audit Engine uses multiple language models to test every transaction against customizable audit checks. On average, 75% of transactions are auto-approved, leaving only the remaining 25% - flagged as high-risk spend - for human review. So far this year, Navan has flagged 2 million transactions, including close to 30,000 instances of excessive tipping and hundreds of AI-generated fraudulent receipts that traditional providers miss. Other audit flags include weekend spend, receipt amount mismatches, and prohibited items like alcohol and tobacco.
- Navan's new Audit Engine is now available for all customers globally.
- The new Anti-Corruption and Bribery check is currently in beta with plans for a full global rollout soon.

What they’re saying
“Finance teams typically rely on multiple systems or headcount to identify risk, fraud, and policy violations. But protecting the business is fundamentally a data and volume problem — and Navan's AI is uniquely positioned to solve that.”
— Yuval Refua, Chief Product Officer, Payments & Expense at Navan
“We previously had to review every single expense report. Now, thanks to auto-approval of expenses within our thresholds, we save at least ten hours each week. Plus, employees are reimbursed for out-of-pocket expenses within five days of approval, which is much faster than before.”
— Kylee Bloodworth, Senior Director, Global Accounting at Pendo.io
