The Ontario Reign defeated the Tucson Roadrunners 4-2 in an AHL matchup on Saturday night. Francesco Pinelli, Aatu Jämsen, and Andre Lee scored for the Reign, who outshot the Roadrunners 29-17 over the course of the game. Tucson got goals from Austin Poganski and Daniil But, but could not overcome the Reign's strong performance.
Why it matters

The details
Pinelli opened the scoring for the Reign in the first period, but Poganski tied it up for Tucson later in the frame. In the second period, Jämsen and Lee scored 56 seconds apart to give Ontario a 3-1 lead. But pulled Tucson back within one late in the second. The Reign shut down the Roadrunners in the third, outshooting them 12-3, and Jack Millar sealed the win with an empty-net goal in the final minutes.
