San Diego Museum Month is underway, offering half-off admission through February at more than 70 museums and attractions across San Diego County and Tijuana. The annual program allows museum-goers to receive 50% off general admission for up to four people at each participating location by using a free printed or digital Museum Month pass.
Why it matters
San Diego Museum Month was created in 1989 to promote the region's cultural attractions during a typically slower time of year. The program aims to make museums and other cultural sites more accessible and affordable for residents and visitors.
The details
Participating sites include museums, aquariums, gardens, historic sites and state parks. Some locations are free or donation-based, providing additional low-cost options for visitors. Printed Museum Month passes are available at approximately 80 public libraries throughout the county, as well as five libraries in Imperial County. Digital passes can also be downloaded directly to phones from the San Diego Museum Council website.
- San Diego Museum Month began on February 1, 2026.
- The program runs through February 28, 2026.

What’s next
The Museum Month program will continue through the end of February 2026, providing residents and visitors with the opportunity to explore San Diego's cultural attractions at a discounted rate.
The takeaway
San Diego Museum Month is a long-running program that aims to make the region's museums and cultural sites more accessible and affordable for the public, particularly during a slower tourism season.
