The No. 5 Oregon women's golf team placed third (+1) at the Chevron Silverado Showdown in Napa, California, on Wednesday, led by solid outings from juniors Tong An and Annika Ishiyama on the final day. Star players Kiara Romero and Karen Tsuru did not compete after playing in the Augusta National Women's Amateur, but the Ducks are still in a good position heading into the Big Ten Championships on April 24.

Why it matters

Oregon is currently the second-highest ranked Big Ten team in the nation, behind only No. 2 USC. With Romero and Tsuru returning to the lineup, the Ducks have a real shot at taking home the Big Ten trophy, which would be a major accomplishment for the program.

The details

Leading the charge for Oregon in Napa were An and Darae Chung, who finished tied for 15th (E). An bounced back from a rough start to shoot three under par in the final round, while Ishiyama also shot three under to climb up the leaderboard. Shyla Singh and Sophie Han also had strong final rounds to push up the standings. Outside of the top performers, individual Yvonne Vinceri finished 50th (+11) after a strong start.
