Furian Inferrera, a three-star quarterback who has been recovering from an injury, announced he will be transferring from Mater Dei High School to Mission Hills High School to complete his California high school football career. Inferrera had limited playing time behind Wisconsin-bound Ryan Hopkins at Mater Dei, which finished with a 10-3 record last season.
Why it matters
Inferrera's transfer to Mission Hills, which finished 9-2 last season, provides him a chance to step into a starting role and showcase his skills. The move also leaves a void at quarterback for Mater Dei, which was ranked 21st nationally in 2025.
The details
In two seasons at Mater Dei, Inferrera completed 14 of 19 passes for 144 yards and a touchdown. He missed much of his junior year due to injury. At Mission Hills, he will be joining a team that lost in the CIF San Diego Section Open Division semifinals last season and is in need of a new starting quarterback with the graduation of four-star senior Troy Huhn.
