Singer Vehicle Design is now taking orders for its latest creation, the Porsche 911 Carrera Cabriolet Reimagined. The company takes a 30-year-old 964-generation 911 Carrera 3.2 M491 'Turbo Look' Cabriolet as the donor car, strips it down to the bare chassis, and then thoroughly redesigns and rebuilds it with a more powerful 4.0-liter flat-six engine, a carbon fiber widebody, and an advanced suspension system.

Why it matters

Singer's reimagined Porsche models have developed a cult following among enthusiasts who appreciate the company's meticulous attention to detail and ability to breathe new life into classic 911s. This latest Cabriolet offering brings the Singer treatment to an open-top 911, allowing owners to experience the performance and handling upgrades with the wind in their hair.

The details

The Singer 911 Carrera Cabriolet starts with a donor 964-generation 911 Carrera 3.2 M491 'Turbo Look' Cabriolet from the 1984-1989 model years. Singer then completely disassembles the car, reinforcing the chassis with composite and steel components before rebuilding it with a 420-horsepower 4.0-liter flat-six engine developed with Cosworth. This engine features upgrades to the variable valve timing, combustion chambers, and intake/exhaust systems. Power is sent to the rear wheels through a six-speed manual transmission. The suspension also receives major upgrades, including four-way adjustable dampers, carbon ceramic brakes, traction control, and electronic stability control - all developed by Singer in partnership with Bosch.

  • Singer began taking orders for the 911 Carrera Cabriolet Reimagined in February 2026.
  • Only 75 examples of this model will be produced.
