IAMA Theatre Company is presenting the world premiere of "Foursome", a new play written by IAMA Ensemble Member Matthew Scott Montgomery and directed by IAMA Director of the Ensemble Tom DeTrinis. This exciting and hilarious work about queer love and chosen family is produced in association with Celebration Theatre, Southern California's oldest LGBTQIA+ theatre company.

Why it matters

"Foursome" explores LGBTQIA+ relationships and the complexities of love, friendship, and commitment through a witty, romantic comedy lens. As one of the few new LGBTQIA+-focused plays premiering in Los Angeles, the production provides representation and a platform for queer stories and voices.

The details

The play follows two couples, all the best of friends, as they gather for a weekend getaway filled with champagne, secrets, and emotional baggage. As pop anthems echo through the cabin, what begins as a warm reunion becomes a powder keg of desire, miscommunication, history, and unexpected revelations.

  • Foursome will play February 13 – March 23, 2026 at Atwater Village Theatre in Los Angeles.
