Lompoc Valley Medical Center has officially kicked off the $8 million renovation and construction of the new Lompoc Health - Village Center site. The 15,000-square-foot facility located in Vandenberg Village will serve thousands of patients in the Lompoc Valley and Vandenberg Space Force Base, expanding access to primary care, specialty services, and other urgent community healthcare needs.

Why it matters

The Village Center project is part of Lompoc Valley Medical Center's broader strategy to improve healthcare access and outcomes in the region. With the addition of 12 new exam rooms, a treatment room, provider offices, and diagnostic imaging in Phase 1, the center will allow the hospital district to respond proactively to community needs and provide care in the right setting.

The details

The Village Center site, located adjacent to an existing CoastHills Credit Union branch, will be renovated in two phases. Phase 1, which began with interior demolition work on Monday, is expected to be completed by the end of October. Phase 2, set to begin next year, will add 18 more exam/treatment rooms and potentially include an audiology lab, occupational medicine service, and additional specialty providers. The Lompoc Hospital District Foundation has contributed $1 million toward the renovation and is fundraising for more contributions.
