Toni Bravo, a beauty and lifestyle content creator, purchased a home in Los Angeles in 2024 and worked with design duo Marie Trohman and Ashley Drost of Proem Studio to transform the stripped-back Spanish-style house into a vibrant, screen-free home rooted in color, culture, and feeling. Bravo was clear from the beginning about the vibe she wanted - comfort, color, and a space reflective of her distinctive style. The designers carved out distinct moments through deliberate design decisions, incorporating a prismatic palette, rounded arches, and custom wallpapers and fabrics to bring Bravo's vision to life.

Why it matters

Bravo's approach to designing her first home without a mood board or TV highlights a growing trend among young, digitally-native creators to design spaces that reflect their personal style and values, rather than relying on traditional design methods. Her commitment to incorporating art and decor that represents her cultural background also speaks to a broader desire among millennials and Gen Z to see themselves reflected in their living spaces.

The details

Bravo purchased the 1920s Spanish-style house in 2024, which had been stripped of much of its original charm. Working with Proem Studio, the team reinjected life and a sense of narrative into the space, carving out distinct moments through arched doorways, a living area wrapped in floral wallpaper, and a dining room and kitchen defined by wood-paneled walls and muted terracotta-marble countertops. Bravo's vibrant, prismatic palette animates nearly every room, with no stark white walls in sight. While television served as a design inspiration, there isn't one in the home, as Bravo wanted to create a screen-free sanctuary.
