Sonoma County Restaurant Week is underway, offering prix fixe menus at over 130 dining establishments across the region. However, one Healdsburg event is taking a different approach by directly benefiting the community. On March 5, four local restaurants - Baci, Goodnight's, Spoonbar, and Valette - will participate in Jazz on the Menu, donating 25% of their dinner proceeds to support Healdsburg Jazz's music education initiatives in public schools.
Why it matters
While Restaurant Week is a boon for restaurants, Jazz on the Menu provides a way for diners to enjoy a night out while also supporting a local nonprofit's mission. Healdsburg Jazz has been a hub for live music in the area for over 20 years and uses funds raised through events like this to offer free music education programs to students.
The details
The one-night-only Jazz on the Menu event takes place from 5:30-8pm on March 5. Three of the participating restaurants - Baci, Spoonbar, and Valette - have been involved since the event's inception, while Goodnight's Steakhouse is a new addition this year. Unlike Restaurant Week, Jazz on the Menu does not require prix fixe menus, allowing the restaurants to offer their full dinner service while donating a portion of sales.
