The Las Vegas Raiders have named Marquice Williams as their new senior assistant-special teams coach. Williams brings 10 years of NFL coaching experience to the team, including the past five seasons as the special teams coordinator for the Atlanta Falcons.
Why it matters
The Raiders are looking to improve their special teams units after a disappointing 2025 season. Williams' extensive experience as a special teams coordinator, including helping kickers and punters set franchise and league records, could provide a boost to the Raiders' special teams.
The details
In his five seasons as the Falcons' special teams coordinator, Williams worked with several standout special teams players. In 2025, he helped punter Bradley Pinion set the franchise record for punts inside the 20-yard line, and kicker Zane Gonzalez finish the season 19-of-22 on field goals. In 2024, Williams mentored special teamer KhaDarel Hodge, who was elected to the Pro Bowl. And in 2022, Williams' special teams units scored multiple touchdowns and blocked multiple punts.
