Surveillance video obtained by federal prosecutors shows a group of around two dozen masked robbers rushing into a jewelry store in Fremont, California, on June 18, 2025, and stealing an estimated $1.7 million worth of gold and diamonds in just 70 seconds. The robbers used stolen cars, hammers, and backpacks to quickly clear out the store's inventory as employees fled to the back. While four suspects were arrested after a high-speed chase, prosecutors say the majority of the robbers managed to escape.

The entire robbery lasted about 90 seconds, from the time a stolen Honda crashed through the door as two gunmen held a security guard hostage, to the last robber's exit. They left almost nothing behind, taking an estimated 75-80% of the store's entire inventory. The robbers fled in different directions in stolen cars, forcing police to choose which vehicle to pursue, allowing others to escape.
