Published on Feb. 13, 2026

Southern California Edison (SCE) has announced a major milestone in the Wildfire Recovery Compensation Program, with more than 500 compensation offers extended to individuals and businesses impacted by the Eaton Fire. The program is designed to offer compensation in line with settlement values for similar claims in past wildfire lawsuits, with a more streamlined and much faster approach than litigation. In just 108 days since launching, relief offered to claimants through the program now exceeds $165 million.

Why it matters

The Eaton Fire had a significant impact on the local community, and this program is SCE's effort to support those affected and help them recover as quickly as possible. The speed and scale of the compensation offers reflect SCE's commitment to assisting the community in the aftermath of the disaster.

The details

To date, SCE has received 2,345 claims consisting of 6,778 individuals, and has extended 507 offers totaling more than $165 million to 1,457 individuals. 71 claim payments have already been made or are in process, totaling more than $15 million. The program aims to deliver settlement offers within 90 days of a fully documented, substantially complete claim, with many offers being extended in an even shorter timeframe.
