The REM Legacy Foundation, a local nonprofit, is hosting a Senior Prom event on February 26th from 3:30 to 5:30 PM at the Dixon Senior Center. The free, community-wide event is open to adults aged 65 and older and will feature a DJ, photographer, photo booth, food, raffle prizes, and vendor booths providing information and resources tailored to seniors.
Why it matters
This event aims to give older adults in the Dixon and Solano County area a chance to get out, socialize, and feel celebrated. Many seniors spend a lot of time isolated at home, so the prom provides an opportunity for them to enjoy music, dancing, and making new connections within the community.
The details
The REM Legacy Foundation, founded in 2025, helps families cover funeral expenses so they can focus on grieving rather than fundraising. The organization is hosting this Senior Prom as part of its mission to support families and seniors. In addition to the entertainment, the event will connect attendees with service providers like home health agencies and hospice organizations. Vendors will also be offering raffle prizes and crowns for a prom king and queen.
- The Senior Prom event will take place on February 26, 2026 from 3:30 to 5:30 PM.
- Planning for the event began in November or December of 2025.
