A group of Monte Vista High School juniors have started a nonprofit called "Career Closet" to collect professional clothing donations for underserved individuals seeking employment. The students are partnering with the Danville Library and local organizations to distribute the donated items and provide career development resources.

The details
The Career Closet nonprofit was founded in 2023 by four Monte Vista High School students - Ruhikaa Pannem, Roma Singh, Sonya Paleja, and Vanya Iyer. After learning about the need for professional clothing among job seekers through volunteering and mentorship, the students organized a clothing drive in partnership with the Danville Library. So far, they have collected over 300 articles of clothing and distributed them to more than 150 individuals in need with the help of local organizations.
