World Egg and Sperm Bank Launches Free Egg Freezing for Donors

New program allows egg donors to preserve their own fertility at no cost.

Published on Mar. 11, 2026

The World Egg and Sperm Bank (TWESB) has launched a new program called "Give & Receive" that allows eligible egg donors to freeze up to 24 of their own eggs for free while donating to intended parents. The program aims to empower young adults to help create families today while also preserving options for their own future fertility.

Why it matters

Egg freezing is an expensive procedure that can cost thousands of dollars per cycle, putting it out of reach for many women who could benefit from preserving their fertility at a young age. TWESB's new program addresses this access issue by bundling egg donation with free fertility preservation, helping to increase the supply of donor eggs while also supporting the future reproductive choices of the donors themselves.

The details

Through the Give & Receive program, after completing an initial egg donation and clinical review, eligible donors can receive up to 12 of their own eggs frozen during their next donation cycle, along with comprehensive fertility testing and genetic screening results. A third donation unlocks up to an additional 12 frozen eggs. TWESB was founded in 2004 as the first independent egg bank and operates from its Scottsdale, Arizona facilities with more than 500 screened donors.
