The Arizona Cardinals have officially broken ground on a new state-of-the-art training facility and business offices in north Phoenix. The $136 million, 217-acre site will feature three grass practice fields, a fieldhouse with a full-size turf field, an expanded locker room, and additional mixed-use development including housing and an entertainment district.
Why it matters
The Cardinals' current facilities in Tempe have become outdated, and the team's owner, Michael Bidwill, wanted to create a 'player-first, performance-first' complex that would also benefit the broader Phoenix community through the mixed-use development.
The details
The new facility is scheduled to open in 2028 and will sit on 30 acres of the 217-acre site, with the remaining land used for housing, entertainment, and other commercial purposes. The design will prioritize walkability, even in the Arizona heat. Players and team leadership are excited about the investment in their future.
