The Arizona Department of Health Services has launched a new tool called Community Profiles that provides real-time public health data for 136 communities across the state. The interactive platform includes information on demographics, health outcomes, healthcare access, workforce, facilities, and environmental conditions.
Why it matters
The Community Profiles tool aims to help Arizonans quickly understand the health landscape of their local communities, identify gaps, and take action to improve public health. By consolidating hundreds of health indicators in one place, the state hopes to empower residents and policymakers with data-driven insights.
The details
The new Community Profiles platform is accessible through the state's Public Health Data Portal, which launched in 2025. The tool provides interactive data and maps, guided tours, printable views, metadata, and data downloads. According to Nicole Eiden, a Geographic Information System manager at the Arizona Department of Health Services, 'By bringing hundreds of indicators into one place, it helps people quickly see what is happening in a community, where gaps exist and where action can make the greatest impact.'
