All three Mountain Home school bands - the Mountain Home Junior High Blue Band, the MHJH Gold Band, and the Mountain Home High School Bomber Band - earned Superior First Division ratings at the Arkansas School Band and Orchestra Association Region VI Concert Assessment held in Harrison over the weekend. The results qualify the groups for the ASBOA Sweepstakes Award.

Each ensemble performed a march along with two additional selections from a prescribed music list based on school size and group ability. Performances were evaluated by band directors from across the state. The Mountain Home Junior High Blue Band, directed by Alex Garcia, the MHJH Gold Band under the direction of John May, and the Mountain Home High School Bomber Band led by Tom Chentnik each received First Division ratings for both their prepared performance and sightreading.
