Guard Chloe Clardy, who made 38% of her 3-point attempts last season for Stanford, is headed to UNC after averaging 12 points, 3.1 rebounds, 2.3 assists and 2.0 steals as a junior. She is the third veteran transfer to commit to the Tar Heels this offseason, joining Oklahoma State forward Achol Akot and Syracuse guard Sophie Burrows.

Why it matters

UNC coach Courtney Banghart continues to bolster her roster through the transfer portal, adding experienced talent like Clardy to complement the Tar Heels' returning core. Clardy's 3-point shooting and all-around production should provide an immediate boost to UNC's offense.

The details

Clardy, a graduate transfer, has scored at least 20 points five times in her career, including a 30-point outburst against Virginia Tech last season. She has 11 games with at least three 3-pointers, including two with four 3s and a career-high six in an 86-65 win at Pittsburgh, when she scored a season-high 26 points. Clardy's Stanford teams went 1-2 against UNC, with her scoring 15 points in the Tar Heels' 69-67 win in 2025 and 12 points in Stanford's 77-71 overtime victory last season.
