Murder Suspect Wanted in Kansas Captured in Arkansas

A Kansas murder suspect wanted in connection with a December shooting was taken into custody Wednesday afternoon during a routine traffic stop on a central Arkansas highway, authorities said. Joshua Paul Pourciau, 29, of Winfield, Kan., was apprehended without further incident and transported to the Van Buren County Detention Center.

Van Buren County sheriff's deputies assisted an Arkansas State trooper in stopping Pourciau's vehicle at approximately 2:15 p.m. on U.S. Highway 65 in Clinton, across from Ozark Health. Pourciau had been wanted in connection with a Dec. 21 shooting at the Walnut Towers apartment complex in Winfield, Kan. A co-defendant, Rocky Leroy Brown, 31, also of Winfield, had been arrested on Jan. 4 on a felony warrant for attempted first-degree murder in the same incident.
