The Fairview Aggies captured their second consecutive Cullman County baseball tournament championship on Saturday, first blanking Cold Springs 13-0 before knocking off Good Hope 8-5 in the title game. Fairview rallied from an early 1-0 deficit, scoring seven runs in the second inning to take control of the championship matchup.

The details

Good Hope struck first when Carter Rutherford drew a leadoff walk and later scored on a passed ball. But Fairview answered in the bottom of the first with a two-run double by Jaxson Robertson and an RBI groundout from Lincoln Wright. The Aggies then erupted for five runs in the second inning, getting RBI singles from Camden Cullen and Wright along with a sacrifice fly from Robertson and an error that plated another run. Good Hope trimmed the deficit to 8-5 in the sixth, but Cullen, the tournament MVP, closed out the win for Fairview in the seventh.
