Tuscaloosa has been selected as a host community for FuelAL, a statewide program designed to attract and retain young talent by connecting college interns and students with professional development, networking, and community experiences. The program, led by the Chamber of Commerce of West Alabama, aims to showcase Tuscaloosa and West Alabama as an ideal place to build a career and life after graduation.

As many college graduates leave Alabama after completing their studies, FuelAL represents an effort to combat 'brain drain' and encourage young professionals to put down roots in Tuscaloosa and the surrounding region.
