The Oklahoma Sooners have secured a verbal commitment from Jaylen Scott, a consensus 4-star and top-100 recruit in the Class of 2027. Scott, a safety from Mobile, Alabama, had a standout junior season in 2025 with 104 total tackles, 52 solo tackles, five interceptions, two tackles for loss and a fumble recovery. He chose Oklahoma over offers from Florida, Tennessee and Georgia.

Scott is one of eight defensive commits in Oklahoma's 2027 class, which also includes linebackers, defensive backs and defensive linemen.
