The dazzling textures and lighting of Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge's expanded universe will transport guests into the heart of the iconic galaxy far, far away.Huntsville TodayDisneyland is set to make a significant change to its Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge land, expanding the timeline to include characters and stories from the original Star Wars trilogy starting April 29, 2026. This update will introduce beloved characters like Darth Vader, Luke Skywalker, Leia Organa, and Han Solo, who will interact with guests in spontaneous, story-driven moments.
Why it matters
The expansion marks a departure from the park's previous strict timeline continuity rules, which limited character appearances and story elements. This change is expected to delight fans and broaden the appeal of the land, offering something for every Star Wars fan.
The details
The changes will include subtle adjustments to props, paint, and signage to support a backstory that takes place during the original Star Wars trilogy. For instance, the store called First Order Cargo will change its name to Black Spire Surplus, since the First Order doesn't exist in the time of Darth Vader. The updates will also extend to Disney's Hollywood Studios at Walt Disney World in Florida, though the Florida land will not expand its timeline to include the original trilogy and will instead stay mostly within the sequel trilogy.
- The changes will take effect starting April 29, 2026.
