What they’re saying
“We played a pretty emotional game here a couple of days ago against Deshler. We might not have necessarily played our best game, but it was enough to advance, and at this time of the year, that's what it's about. We just have to advance. We want to play one more game. There's some big pieces as far as the other girls that contributed in this tournament: Ella Davis and Lucie Adams. I'm also proud of Lexi, Sophie, and Ella Gossett. They played a heck of a tournament, so we get to advance, which was one of our goals at the beginning of the year.”

“We know what it feels like to be there. We've been there the past two years, so we know what we have to do. We just use that as our motivation, and the feeling of being there, the electric atmosphere, it's a wonderful feeling. It's something that we all want to feel again, so we use that as our motivation to get back.”

What’s next
Good Hope will play the winner of the Montgomery Catholic/Pleasant Grove game next week in the AHSAA Class 4A Final Four in Birmingham. The date and time of the semifinal game are still to be determined.
The takeaway
Good Hope's girls basketball program has emerged as a consistent powerhouse, making the Final Four for the third straight year. The team's balanced scoring, stifling defense, and tournament experience have them poised for another deep postseason run as they seek their first state championship.
