AmFirst, one of Alabama's largest credit unions, has purchased a recently renovated office building located just blocks from its corporate headquarters in downtown Birmingham. The new space will serve as a modern, collaborative extension of AmFirst's existing campus, featuring amenities designed to promote teamwork, connectivity, and employee well-being. The move reflects AmFirst's ongoing investment in the city and the momentum seen across Birmingham's business community.
Why it matters
AmFirst's expansion in Birmingham underscores the city's growing appeal as a premier location for businesses to grow and thrive. The credit union's commitment to enhancing its member services and creating new community partnerships aligns with Birmingham's broader economic development efforts, which aim to attract and retain top talent and organizations.
The details
The newly acquired building, located at 110 12th St. N., was most recently occupied by Pack Health, a former Quest Diagnostics company that closed in October 2025. Prior to that, the space served as a city-supported entrepreneurial incubator and later housed UAB's Office for the Advancement of Developing Industries. AmFirst plans to transform the building into a 'modern, collaborative extension' of its corporate office, featuring a variety of work areas, amenities, a soundstage for marketing and communications initiatives, flexible meeting spaces, and wellness-focused features.
