The Black Crowes, the famously volatile brothers-led rock band, have announced a 2026 'Southern Hospitality Tour' co-headlining with contemporary Southern rockers Whiskey Myers. The tour includes two shows in Alabama: May 24 at Birmingham's Coca-Cola Amphitheater and May 27 at Orange Beach's The Wharf Amphitheater. Tickets go on sale to the general public on February 6.
Why it matters
The Black Crowes were mainstream stars in the early 1990s with hits like 'Jealous Again,' 'Remedy,' and 'Twice As Hard.' However, the volatile personal relationship between brothers Chris and Rich Robinson, along with frequent lineup changes, resulted in the band falling short of their early promise. This tour marks the band's continued comeback after reuniting in 2021 and releasing the critically acclaimed album 'Happiness Bastards' in 2024.
The details
The Black Crowes formed in the mid-1980s under the name Mr. Crowes' Garden, with a jangly sound more akin to R.E.M. than the blues-rock they became known for. Their first three albums - 'Shake Your Money Maker,' 'Southern Harmony,' and 'Amorica' - are considered essential blues-rock recordings. The band later toured and recorded a live album with Led Zeppelin guitarist Jimmy Page.
- The Black Crowes and Whiskey Myers 'Southern Hospitality Tour' will come to Birmingham on May 24, 2026.
- The tour will stop in Orange Beach on May 27, 2026.
