The Auburn Tigers men's basketball team has announced the signing of 7-foot-1 center Bukky Oboye, a transfer from Santa Clara University. Oboye, a sophomore from Houston, started 34 games for the Broncos last season, averaging 7.9 points, 4.1 rebounds, and 1.2 blocks per game.

Why it matters

The addition of Oboye provides a much-needed boost to Auburn's frontcourt, as the team has lost several key players from last season's roster through the transfer portal. Oboye's size and defensive presence could be valuable assets as the Tigers look to rebuild and compete in the SEC.

The details

Oboye is the first player to join the Tigers from the transfer portal this offseason. Auburn has seen several departures, including Elyjah Freeman, Abdul Bashir, Kaden Magwood, and Filip Jovic.

  • Oboye signed with Auburn on April 17, 2026.
  • Last season, Oboye started 34 games for Santa Clara as a sophomore.
