Things to Do New Year’s Eve 2018

New Year's Day

They say how you begin the year pretty much defines how the year is going to be. We don’t know if that’s true, but we certainly want you to ring in 2019 with fun, laughter, and surrounded by those you love. Here are some great ideas to help you plan an awesome New Year’s Eve:

1. Go to a party

There’s nothing like being surrounded by friends old and new as you usher in the new year. Fun, food, laughter… what more could one want?

2. Watch the fireworks

Most cities have New Year’s fireworks, and they’re very popular with families and kids.

3. Visit an ice rink

Ice skating during New Year’s Eve is an all-time favorite.

4. Go to a winter wonderland

The holiday spirit lingers until the year ends and a winter wonderland is probably less crowded around this time. That means it’s the perfect time to visit.

5. Host a potluck

Potluck parties are so much fun! And since you won’t have to cook everything, you’ll be a relaxed, happy host.

6. Watch the ball drop

The Macy’s Ball Drop is what comes to mind first, but New Year’s celebrations around the country have their own quirky variations that are worth checking out if you’re in the area. The moon pie drop in Alabama, the beach ball drop in Panama City Beach, and the pine cone drop in Flagstaff, Arizona are among the most amusing.

7. Plan a date night

New Year’s Eve is the perfect time to plan a romantic date. You could prepare a candle-light dinner with champagne, or keep it simple and curl up on the couch with some popcorn and a romantic comedy.

8. Spend time at home

For some, parties are overrated. New Year’s Eve can be a great opportunity to spend some quality time with the family, eating great food, and playing some fun games until the clock strikes 12.

9. Go dancing at a bar or club

That’s what most people want to do on New Year’s Eve, and they do it year after year because it rarely disappoints.

10. Go out for a movie

This is for the movie buffs. Any day is a good day to catch a movie.
