A La Mode: A Slice of Life follows the journey of Drag Queen A La Mode in nightlife from the very beginning. The first time they stepped foot in a bar dressing room and fell in love with drag, burlesque, and all forms of queer performance art. This is a deep dive into where they are from, where they have been, and where they are going. A La Mode is excited to peel the curtain back a little to see the ugly, hard side of this seemingly glamorous life. Drag queens Vida Boheme (Patrick Swayze), Noxeema Jackson (Wesley Snipes), and Chi-Chi Rodriguez (John Leguizamo) embark on a cross-country road trip in their 1967 Cadillac DeVille convertible to compete in the Miss Drag Queen of America pageant in Hollywood. When their car breaks down, they end up stranded in Snydersville, a small conservative town in middle America. Amongst the camp, To Wong Foo is a heartfelt story that demonstrates the power of empathy and acceptance while highlighting the importance of community and solidarity.
