History of Case Day

The name Case can be used both as a given name and as a surname. In medieval England, a ‘cas(s)e’ was used to describe a maker of boxes. The word itself came from the Latin ‘capsa,’ which means ‘box.’ The last names ‘Case’ and ‘Casemaker’ were given to people who had those jobs.
