Community Manager Appreciation Day – January 23

Community Manager Appreciation Day is celebrated annually on Jan. 23 and was created by Jeremiah Owyang in 2010 as a way to recognize the efforts of community managers globally. The life of a community manager is a hectic one— endless monitoring, conversation after conversation, and nonstop content creation. There’s a saying: "Social media never sleeps, and neither do community managers". That’s why on this day, we celebrate community managers and vendors in the social media marketplace post blogs in appreciation of their hard work and dedication.

National Weatherperson’s Day – February 5

There are few things that can affect our day — or inspire small talk in an elevator —quite like the weather. But instead of getting caught in a heavy downpour without an umbrella, what if there were a group of special people who could give us a hint beforehand? That’s why we celebrate National Weatherperson’s Day every year on February 5 — on the birthday of John Jeffries, one of the first weather observers to take daily measurements (back in 1774). The day honors individuals in the fields of meteorology, weather forecasting and broadcast meteorology, as well as volunteer storm spotters and observers.

National Inventors’ Day – February 11

It's February 11th, and you know what that means! No? Well, it's National Inventors' Day, and we should all be celebrating! Without our inventors, where might we be? Humanity's inventiveness is what sets us apart from every other species on this planet, and it's through our inventions that we can see our own progress as a species. We've come a long way since the invention of the wheel, and that's worth celebrating. Here's to National Inventors' Day.

National Dentist’s Day – March 6

March 6 is National Dentist’s Day, a day to celebrate the men and women who keep our chompers chomping, our gnashers gnashing, and our whites pearly. Dentists are doctors who specialize in oral health. It’s their job to prevent, diagnose, and treat oral diseases, monitor the growth of our teeth and jaws, and perform surgical procedures on our teeth and mouths! Dental health is integral to our overall health, so today we salute them not just for keeping our teeth looking good, but keeping our bodies in tip-top shape.

National Mom and Pop Business Owners Day – March 29

Our economy couldn’t run without small mom and pop businesses. They create economic growth and provide almost 70% of all new jobs in the country. That’s why every year on March 29 we acknowledge the more than 27 million small businesses in this country by celebrating National Mom and Pop Business Owners Day! The holiday was established by Rick and Margie Segel in honor of their parents and the successful hat shop they opened in 1939 and grew into a 10,000 square foot, $2 million dollar clothing shop. It is a special day to appreciate the long hours, hard work and dedication it takes to run a small business. So on March 29, head to your favorite small business to say thank you!

National Doctors’ Day – March 30

Today is National Doctors' Day (March 30), an annual observance aimed at appreciating physicians who help save our lives everywhere. The holiday first started in 1933 in Winder, Georgia, and since then it's been honored every year on March 30, which was the first anniversary of a doctor using ether anesthesia by Dr. Crawford W. Long. Today we continue to celebrate medical advances like these and thank all doctors everywhere who've spent so much time and energy mastering their field of expertise.
