Coaches Day contest seeks elite youth sports coaches

FlipGive’s National Coaches Day “Coach of the Year Contest” has nearly arrived at the finish line.

The FlipGive app, which has transformed the way youth sports teams raise money, recently launched a nationwide search to find three coaches who exemplify success, courage and sportsmanship for their players both on and off the field.

Nomination forms are due by midnight (ET) Sunday.  All you need to do is create a glowing description of your team’s coach in 250 words or less. FlipGive will award the winning coaches $1,000 each to spend on their squads. The company has already helped raise more than $20 million to help support young athletes across North America.

So, what would your team do with $1,000? Here are some sporty ideas:

Gametime

Treat the team to seats at an upcoming professional or college sporting event. Every kid dreams of nailing a three-point-shot at the buzzer. It’s one thing to do it in your driveway — but quite another when Stephen Curry buries one in front of 15,000 screaming fans. Depending on your team size, a thousand bucks can buy a lot of hot dogs too.

Youth hockey’s making a comeback — and kids love it. (Not to worry, parents, it’s as safe as any other sport.) Deck your team out in these official CCM youth skates. Players will appreciate the comfort and support. And parents love to see the players looking sharp.

Line Drives

Want to hit like 2019 National League batting champ Christian Yelich? Get ready to practice. The Brewers slugger will tell you it takes some hard work to hit a stellar .329. This Heater pitching machine’s perfect for both slow-pitch softball as well as Little League-speed baseball.

Turn some heads when your football (as in, soccer) team shows up in their new Nike Jr. Phantom Venom Academy FGs.  Ridges on the instep create spin to control the flight of the ball. Unable to bend it like Beckham? Now you can.

Get Me Out of Here

Help your team form a strong bond. Escape rooms are the very definition of team-building. Players work together to discover clues, solve puzzles, and accomplish tasks in one or more rooms in order to progress and accomplish a specific goal in a limited amount of time.

Throwing Shade

Any parent who has ever spent time on a blistering hot sideline will appreciate this pop-up canopy tent. It’s 100% waterproof (for those sneaky summer thunderstorms) and offers 99% UV protection. Look at it this way: You’re sitting pretty, no matter how the game’s going.
