Super Bowl Sunday – February 5

On the first Sunday in February, America's love affair with football springs into full bloom. After 16 hard-fought matches spanning 17 weeks, the two best football teams in the NFL battle their way to a world championship in the grandest TV spectacle in America. But over the past 51 years, the Super Bowl has evolved into much more than a championship football game. It is a cultural phenomenon that nearly a third of Americans anticipate the whole year round, each for his or her own reasons: the spicy chicken wings, the hearty chili, the ice cold beer, the rowdy friends, the big-budget commercials, the spectacular halftime show, and last but not least, the football. So crack open a cold one, settle down on the couch, and flip on the TV—it's Super Bowl Sunday!

National Frozen Yogurt Day – February 6

You scream, I scream, we all scream for...Frozen Yogurt? Yes! Frozen yogurt is the delicious, creamy treat we all love. Yogurt was first invented over 4,000 years ago in the Middle East and India and then slowly made its way across the world over the centuries. But it wasn’t until the 1970’s the brilliant idea of freezing yogurt (and offering a 'healthier' alternative) created the taste sensation we love today. Since then, though tastes have cycled from sweet to sour, frozen yogurt has secured a place in our dessert lexicon. So, on Feb. 6., pull the lever at your favorite frozen yogurt shop to celebrate National Frozen Yogurt Day.

National Send a Card to a Friend Day – February 7

Have you ever gotten excited when you open the mailbox and you find a hand written card or letter? We all love getting items in the mail. But why? Perhaps its the time it takes to sit down in our busy lives and write the card. Perhaps it's the fact that the person was thinking about you when they selected the card. Perhaps it's the quaintness of receiving something so physical in our age of rapid digital and instant gratification. Whatever the reason, join us on Feb. 7 as we celebrate National Send a Card to a Friend Day!

National Boy Scout Day – February 8

On February 8 we celebrate National Boy Scout Day to honor those who are trustworthy, loyal, helpful, friendly, courteous, kind, obedient, cheerful, thrifty, brave, clean and reverent. Founded in 1910, by American W.D. Boyce, the Boy Scouts of America has helped shape many of our nation's leaders. According to legend, Boyce was lost on a foggy street in London when an unknown Scout helped him by guiding him back to his hotel. When the boy refused a tip, explaining that he was only doing his duty as a Scout, Boyce was inspired to bring the teachings of the British Boy Scout Association back to the U.S.

National Pizza Day – February 9

It’s hard to imagine that before World War II, pizza was little known outside of Italy or Italian immigrant communities. Allied troops, tired of their limited rations, found pizza—and once they returned home, the popularity of this bread-y, cheesy, saucy dish skyrocketed. Join us on February 9 as we celebrate National Pizza Day!

National Umbrella Day – February 10

Dolly Parton once said that if you want the rainbow, you've got to put up with the rain. Although she never said anything about how to put up with the rain, for generations, the method-of-choice has been the umbrella. As part of many cultures since ancient times, umbrellas have a storied history worth commemorating. So on February 10, we celebrate National Umbrella Day!
